NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A description of the man who robbed the First Commonwealth Bank on Liberty Street this week has been released by the FBI. Special Agent Jeff Killeen said a man with a thin build, standing 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches with brown hair and a light mustache handed a demand note to a teller at 2:50 p.m. Monday. Killeen said the teller did not see what direction he ran off. He was wearing a blue ball cap, blue windbreaker and blue jeans. No weapon was shown, Killeen said.
Man turns himself in
SHARON, Pa. -- A Lafayette Avenue man turned himself in to police at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on charges of statutory rape. Police said Paul Knappenberger, 22, is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old Sharon girl at least 10 times in August. He was charged with statutory sexual assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors. He was arraigned before District Justice James McMahon and released without monetary bond.
Walk to Remember
YOUNGSTOWN -- Forum Health will sponsor its 16th annual Walk to Remember from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the medical education building of Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Gypsy Lane.
October is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and the event is dedicated to the approximately 870,000 babies who die each year through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, prematurity, stillbirth or newborn death.

Moose Lodge break-in
ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. -- Someone broke into the Moose Lodge on Factory Avenue and took about $1,000. Pennsylvania State Police said an office window was broken sometime overnight from Monday to Tuesday.
Cops probe homicidein Shenango Wild Life area
VERNON -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is seeking information on a man found dead last week in the Shenango Wild Life area here. OSHP officials said they would like to know where Charles Palm, of Greenville, Pa., was a few days before he was found.
Anyone with information is asked to call the patrol at (330) 898-2311. Troopers are also looking for Bruce Coxson of Vernon Township. Troopers said they want to talk to him about Palm's death. Coxson is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds. A hunter discovered Palm's body around 6:30 p.m. Friday near a gravel parking area in the Shenango Wild Life area.
The patrol said Palm's death is a homicide but declined to state a cause.
Training exercise
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mahoning County Health Board had a training exercise Tuesday to coordinate local response in the event of a bioterrorist attack.
The goal was to become familiar with bioterrorist threats and to develop relationships among the agencies and organizations that would respond to them. Representatives of local hospitals, public health and public safety agencies participated in the exercise at Oak Hill Renaissance Place on the city's South Side.
Man enters guilty pleain firearms violation case
PITTSBURGH -- Arian O'Connor, 25, of Youngstown, pleaded guilty in federal court to violating federal firearms laws.
Constance M. Bowden, the assistant United States attorney prosecuting the case, said O'Connor had a 9 mm Ruger handgun in his possession Sept. 27, 2002, a violation of a federal statute that says people convicted of felony offenses are prohibited from possessing a firearm. O'Connor, who is in Allegheny County Jail, entered his plea Wednesday before U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti who set a sentencing date for Jan. 9. She also ordered that O'Connor remain in custody without bond until that time.
