TUSCOLA, Ill. -- The Youngstown State men's golf team tied for fourth place in the Ironhorse Intercollegiate hosted by Eastern Illinois on Tuesday at the Ironhorse Golf Course.
The Penguins finished with a three-round total of 934 (307-303-324), tying SE Missouri St. Western Illinois won the event with a 914, beating Tennessee St. by two strokes.
Josh Zarlenga of YSU tied for 13th with a 230 (77-74-79). Ross Beal tied for 16th with a 232 (75-76-81). Nate Komsa tied for 18th with a 233 (81-75-77). Carmen DiPenti was 48th, carding a 239 (74-78-87) and Jim Powers placed 91st with a 264 (88-84-92).

Hubbard's ConzettTAC player of week
HUBBARD -- Diana Conzett of Hubbard has been named the Trumbull Athletic Conference's volleyball Player of the Week.
Conzett is a 5-foot-7 senior outside hitter for the 19-3 Eagles. She helped lead Hubbard to wins over Brookfield, Girard and Canal Fulton Northwest last week.
Conzett recorded 37 kills, nine blocks, 17 points and 26 digs. Hubbard finished with a 12-2 record in the TAC.
Titans honored
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Three members of the Westminster College football team, including two from the Youngstown area, have been honored as "Titans of the Week" for their play in the 33-0 shutout over Bethany College.
Senior offensive guard Glenn Silvidi of Hubbard was named Offensive Titan of the Week. Silvidi keyed the play of the offensive line, which cleared the way for a season-best 331 yards rushing and a season-high 508 total yards.
Earning Special Teams Titan of the Week laurels was freshman punter Kyle Trimble, a Western Reserve High graduate from Canfield. Trimble posted three punts for 108 yards and a season-high 36.0 punting average.
Sophomore cornerback Tom Froelich of Cuyahoga Falls was tabbed as Defensive Titan of the Week.
Turkey Day golf
VIENNA -- Candywood Golf Club and St. Vincent DePaul Trumbull County Deanery will hold a Turkey for Golf Day Nov. 3 at the course.
Any golfer bringing a 10-pound turkey or larger to the course will get free greens fees with a riding cart. Cash donations of $20 or more will also be accepted.
All the turkeys will be turned over to the Deanery. Call (330) 399-4217.
Meander Shoot Out
NORTH JACKSON -- Meander Golf Course will be the site of the Turkey Shoot Out, a two-person scramble with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, on Nov. 8.
Entry fee is $10 plus a minimum 10-pound turkey per team. All the turkeys will be donated to Gleaners Food Bank in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday dinners.

Lyell to fight
CHESTER, W.Va. -- Billy Lyell (3-0, 2 KOs) of Youngstown will fight Nick Woods (2-2, 2 KOs) in a six-round bout at Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort's Grande Ballroom on Oct. 29.
In the feature bout, former amateur national champ Verquan Kimbrough (2-0) faces Carl Hobgood of Columbus.

Browns legendsat Hiram College
HIRAM -- Hiram College will host Cleveland Browns Legends Day on Oct. 25 prior to the Terriers' football game against Kenyon.
Twenty former Browns, including Coach Sam Rutigliano and Hall of Famer Dante Lavelli, are expected to attend.
A meet and greet autograph session is set for 11:15 a.m. before the 1 p.m. kickoff. The event is free.

* ORLANDO, Fla. -- Orlando Magic guard Tracy McGrady is having trouble breathing because of pleurisy, an inflammation of the lungs. The NBA's top scorer last year said after practice that he's had shortness of breath and pain for the past two weeks.
* BOSTON -- The Boston Celtics released free-agent guard Mateen Cleaves. Cleaves helped Michigan State win the 2000 NCAA championship and played in 17 games for Sacramento last season.
IRL driver Brackundergoes surgery
DALLAS -- Kenny Brack had surgery on his broken back, his second operation in two days following a terrifying crash in the IRL's season finale.
The driver was in serious but stable condition at Parkland Hospital, Dr. Henry Bock, the Indy Racing League's medical services director, said. Doctors repaired a spinal fracture and fused three vertebrae on Monday.
Big East lawsuit filed
HARTFORD, Conn. -- Four Big East football schools filed a second lawsuit over the Atlantic Coast Conference expansion, adding Boston College, its athletic director and four ACC officers to the list of defendants.
