City council handled these items Wednesday:
Approved an ordinance that requires nonunion city workers to make contributions toward their health insurance benefits, including making copayments for doctor visits and prescription drugs.
Authorized the board of control to spend up to $100,000 with the Ulmer & amp; Berne law firm, Cleveland, on legal services for the proposed downtown arena project. Council previously approved spending up to $50,000.
Authorized the board of control to sign a meter reading agreement with Trumbull County. The county will pay the city about $18,000 a year to provide the water meter readings for homes the city water department serves in Liberty. Trumbull County uses the information to calculate sewer charges.
Authorized the board of control to seek bids and award a contract to buy road salt for snow and ice control.
Authorized the removal of all no parking signs on both sides of Loveless Avenue.
