Westminster dedicates its recreation center
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Westminster College community dedicated the Marge Walker Recreation Center on Friday.
The spalike facility includes a dance studio, cardiovascular equipment and television, videotapes, and a stereo. It complements the state-of-the-art weight and fitness training facility at the Memorial Field House.
Marjorie A. Walker, professor emeritus of physical education, worked at Westminster from 1962 to 1993. She served as professor and chairwoman of education and associate director of athletics, and coached basketball, tennis and volleyball. She also served as adviser for the Student Government Association, Panhellenic Council, cheerleaders, majorettes and drill team.
She was two-time District Coach of the Year, received the Virginia Napoli Award for Outstanding Professional Service and was involved in regional and national associations.
