Key matchup: Titans WR Derrick Mason vs. Texans CB Marcus Coleman. Mason is QB Steve McNair's favorite target, is tied for NFL lead with 33 receptions. He averages 10.5 yards per catch.
CAROLINA (4-0) at INDIANAPOLIS (5-0)

Series history: Panthers lead 2-0. Last meeting: Panthers beat Colts 27-19 on Dec. 27, 1998, at Indianapolis.
Last week: Panthers beat Saints 19-13. Colts beat Buccaneers 38-35 in OT.
Key matchup: Panthers RB Stephen Davis vs. Colts' front seven. Each club has allowed only one TD rushing. Colts have allowed only three 100-yard rushers in their last 17 games.
PHILADELPHIA (2-2) at DALLAS (3-1)

Key matchup: Eagles' struggling secondary vs. Cowboys QB Quincy Carter. Carter leads balanced attack, which is first in NFL in yards per game with 138.8 rushing and 244 passing. Carter's 1,031 yards passing is third in NFC and he ranks second in NFL with 8.18 yards per attempt. Eagles' porous, banged-up secondary allows 257.5 yards per game, second worst in NFL.
MIAMI (3-1) at JACKSONVILLE (1-4)

Series history: Jaguars lead series 2-0. Last meeting: Jaguars beat Dolphins 62-7 on Jan. 15, 2000, in AFC playoff game at Jacksonville.
Last week: Dolphins beat Giants 23-10. Jaguars beat Chargers 27-21.
Key matchup: Dolphins RB Ricky Williams vs. Jaguars' front seven. Williams is one of NFL's top workhorse backs. He averages 28.8 carries per game, by far most in NFL. Although he averages only 3.4 yards per carry, he wears down defenses. Jaguars allow only 83.4 yards per game and 3.0 yards per carry, third lowest in NFL.
KANSAS CITY (5-0) at GREEN BAY (3-2)

Series history: Chiefs lead 5-2-1. Last meeting: Chiefs beat Packers 27-20 on Nov. 10, 1996, at Kansas City.

Key matchup: Chiefs KR-PR Dante Hall vs. Packers special teams coordinator John Bonamego. Hall tied NFL season record for most kickoff-punt TD returns (4) last week.

Key matchup: Saints WR Joe Horn vs. Bears CB R.W. McQuarters. Horn is Saints' best possession receiver. He ranks second in NFL with 195 yards on third down and is tied for second with 13 third-down catches. Horn has 16 100-yard receiving games with Saints and club is 14-2 in those contests. McQuarters is one of three Bears DBs with one INT this season.
TAMPA BAY (2-2) at WASHINGTON (3-2)

Series history: Redskins lead 6-5. Last meeting: Redskins beat Buccaneers 20-17 in OT on Oct. 1, 2002, at Washington.
Last week: Buccaneers lost to Colts 38-35 in OT. Redskins lost to Eagles 27-25.
Key matchup: Buccaneers QB Brad Johnson vs. Redskins OLB Jessie Armstead. Johnson, who played for Redskins from 1999-2000, makes first appearance against former team. Johnson took Redskins to NFC East title in 1999, when team lost to Bucs in divisional playoffs. Last year, he won Super Bowl, aided by league's best defense. Now leads NFL's top passing game, averaging 269.2 yards per game. Armstead leads Redskins with 2 1/2 sacks and has been very active.
NEW YORK GIANTS (2-2)at NEW ENGLAND (3-2)

Series history: Tied 3-3. Last meeting: Patriots beat Giants 16-14 on Sept. 26, 1999, at New England.
Last week: Giants lost to Dolphins 23-10. Patriots beat Titans 38-30.
Key matchup: Giants RB Tiki Barber vs. Patriots coach Bill Belichick. Belichick was Giants coordinator (1985-90) and mastermind behind defenses that led Giants to Super Bowl wins in 1987 and 1991. Barber is Giants' most potent offensive weapon with 384 yards rushing and another 72 receiving. Barber has not been much of threat near goal line, has only one TD in four games.
BUFFALO (3-2) at NEW YORK JETS (0-4)

Series history: Bills lead 47-38. Last meeting: Jets beat Bills 31-13 on Nov. 24, 2002, at East Rutherford, N.J.
Last week: Bills beat Bengals 22-16 in OT. Jets had bye, lost to Cowboys 17-6 in Week 4.
Key matchup: Jets DE Shaun Ellis vs. Bills OT Mike Williams. Williams, 6-foot-6 and 370 pounds, was fourth overall pick in 2002 draft. He'll be protecting QB Drew Bledsoe, who has been sacked 12 times already this season and 54 times last year.
BALTIMORE (2-2) at ARIZONA (1-4)

Series history: Tied 1-1. Last meeting: Ravens beat Cardinals 13-7 on Dec. 17, 2000, at Arizona.
Last week: Ravens had bye, lost to Chiefs 17-10 in Week 4. Cardinals lost to Cowboys 24-7.
Key matchup: Ravens LB Terrell Suggs vs. Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin. Respectively, NFL's defensive and offensive rookies of month for September. Suggs leads team with four sacks, and with one this week would become first player to record one sack in each of his first five games.
SAN FRANCISCO (2-3) at SEATTLE (3-1)

Series history: 49ers lead 6-2. Last meeting: 49ers beat Seahawks 31-24 on Dec. 1, 2002, at San Francisco.
Last week: 49ers beat Lions 24-17. Seahawks lost to Packers 35-13.
Key matchup: Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander vs. 49ers OLB Julian Peterson. Alexander is sixth in NFC with 319 yards rushing and averages 4.5 yards per carry. He has 10 career 100-yard rushing games and club is 8-2 in those contests. In last game against 49ers he tied career best with eight receptions (77 yards). Peterson leads 49ers with 38 tackles and has speed to stay with Alexander on pass routes out of backfield.
