Mayor's Task Force
Winners of the 2003 Peace Awards, to be given by The Mayor's Task Force on Crime and Violence Prevention:
IN MEMORY*
Michael Hartzell, a city police officer who was killed on duty in the spring.
Jennie Revere, a volunteer with the task force and the Four Square Block Watch who died earlier this year.
VOLUNTEER
Youngstown Police Chaplains, a group of clergymen who counsel police officers and crime victims.
INDIVIDUAL
Phyllis Ford, a volunteer with the Valu Program, which counsels women on domestic violence issues.
GROUP PROFESSIONALS
Judge John Durkin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court and Judge Robert Douglas of Youngstown Municipal Court, for their drug court programs.
