A six-class, three-week safe boating course will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. starting Monday and Tuesday at First Place Bank in Cortland. Sponsored by the Mosquito Lake Power Squadron, the tuition-free course will cover basic "rules of the road" for boating. The course is mandatory for boat operators in Ohio born after Jan. 1, 1982. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct its 13-week boating skills and seamanship course starting Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hubbard High School cafeteria.
