North meets South at Loghurst cabin

Deborah Wagner of Austintown, in the photograph above, stitches a quilt on the porch of Loghurst, the oldest log cabin in Northeast Ohio. She says that she stitches a quilt every year to give to Civil War re-enactors, who were at the Canfield museum Saturday and will be there until 4 p.m. today. At left, Daniel Svenson, 7, of Boardman, samples hard tack like that eaten by Civil War soldiers and given to him Saturday by Civil War re-enactors who were at Logurst. And in the photograph below, Stefon Jones, left, of Youngstown and Ron Novak of Boardman pitch a tent at the Civil War encampment, which also features period games and music as well as military maneuvers.
