Hubbard cruises in win over Champion

HUBBARD -- Shawn Lane ran for 191 yards on 16 carries, scored two touchdowns and passed for a third to lead Hubbard to a 49-10 victory over Champion in a Trumbull Athletic Conference Friday at Hubbard High School.
Hubbard (5-3, 3-2) also got a pair of scores from Tony Giancola, while Bryan Boyce threw one touchdown pass to Jacoby Morris for 27 yards and also caught one from Lane for 16 yards.
Champion (1-7, 0-5 TAC) scored its only touchdown in the final period on a 3-yard run by Jack Coriello. Jason Black also kicked a 41-yard field goal for the Flashes.
Hubbard totaled 453 yards for the game, 345 of them on the ground. Champion was held to 105 total yards.
Lakeview 41, Brookfield 0
CORTLAND -- Josh Province carried six times for 155 yards and two touchdowns as Lakeview compiled 297 yards rushing.
Matt Nero added two touchdown runs and Brandyn McKelvin also scored for the Bulldogs (5-3, 3-2).
Corey Huffman completed 3 of 6 passes for 69 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown pass to Jim McHale. McHale finished with two receptions for 54 yards.
For Brookfield (2-6, 1-4), Kris Scharba carried 18 times for 52 yards and Jeff Metz added four receptions for 41 yards. Quarterback Dan Davies completed 5 of 16 for 54 yards and an interception.
Girard 61, LaBrae 7
GIRARD -- The Indians' explosive offense produced 694 total yards.
Girard (6-2, 5-0) had 281 yards rushing on 32 attempts, with Bobby Hepfner gaining 123 on 10 tries, including a 16-yard touchdown run.
Nick Canterino caught touchdown passes of 32, 35, 15 and 30 yards from Matt Zuppo, who was 16 of 20 for 289 yards.
Ryan Collins caught 27 and 69 yard TD pass from Brancon Gardner who was 5 of 6 for 116 yards.
LaBrae (1-7, 1-4) gained 64 yards rushing and Todd Rowan connected of 15 of 40 passes for 158 yards.
