Renter burns hand in fire in kitchen

POLAND -- A woman who suffered a minor hand burn in a grease fire in the kitchen of her second-floor apartment Friday afternoon was treated at the scene.
The fire, which erupted in Building 10 of Colonial Estates apartments behind Town One Square at 4:15 p.m., caused about $10,000 damage and was confined to the kitchen, said Assistant Fire Chief Jim Stewart, who declined to identify the victim.
