CLUBS
XVienna Fish and Game Club will hold a hand-to-hand self-defense class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at the clubhouse on state Route 193. The fee is $25 and includes lunch. Registration is required a week before the class. Contact Shirley Williams, (330) 534-2929.
SOCIETIES
XMahoning Valley Rose Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park, Youngstown. There will be summary discussions of unique and practical garden practices viewed this summer. The speaker will be Alice Lang, local and national arrangement winner, who will demonstrate how to dry flowers. A program, "Asters to Zinnias," will be given by the president of Warren Rose Society. Visitors are welcome, and a minimal fee is charged nonmembers.
VETERANS
XVeterans of Foreign Wars, Triangle Post 2799, will meet at 8 p.m. Oct. 21 at the post home.
