The Eagles (4-5-1) outshot the Penguins, 46-5, and had a 13-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Junior keeper Mia Railing had 11 saves for YSU (1-11). Youngstown State visits Toledo Oct. 17.

Scarbrough at B-W
BEREA -- Howland High graduate Chuck Scarbrough II finished his third season of fall golf at Baldwin-Wallace College.
This fall, he participated in two tournaments and finished with an 81.25 stroke average over four rounds. His low round came at the second round of the Otterbein Invitational at Westerville where he carded a 77 at The Lakes Golf and Country Club.
He is the son of Sally and Charles Scarbrough I.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Penguins of Youngstown defeated the No. 1 team in the nation, Youngstown Blue Devils, to win the competitive division of the All-Out Sports Fall 4-on-4 Flag Football Tournament recently.
Team members were Jason Moore, Jason Hagerty, Elliot Giles, Kevin Wilder, James Hagerty and John Grover.
In the recreational division, Kuruption of Youngstown competed against 13 other teams to win the crown when it defeated, A.T.L. of Youngstown. Team members were: Scott Rathowski, Ryan Meese, Jeff Meese, Mike Giambrone, Craig Sable and John Burd.
Kuruption earned a bid to the Sports Monster Go Deep national tournament series in Canton, Nov. 28-29. Airfare of Youngstown finished third.
DiVito runsfor Heidelberg
TIFFIN -- Heidelberg College junior Tim DiVito of Boardman helped the Heidelberg men's cross country team in the Notre Dame Invitational recently.
DiVito finished 74th and runner-up for the Student Princes in 26:57 as Heidelberg placed 15th in the gold division.
SRU on honor roll
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Slippery Rock University earned the No. 25 spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's Division II Top 25 Team Honor Roll.
The Rock had a cumulative grade point average of 3.3336 on a 4.0 scale.

New Case coach
CLEVELAND -- Former Hiram College men's basketball coach Sean McDonnell has been named the new coach of Case Western Reserve University's team.
McDonnell, 28, will replace Adam Hutchinson, who left Case at the end of July to take a coaching job at Washington & amp; Lee University in Virginia, the school announced Wednesday.
McDonnell was 20-56 in three seasons at Hiram.
The Spartans start practice Oct. 15. Their first game is Nov. 21 at Mount Union.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Seven players were announced as members of the U.S. women's basketball team that's expected to compete at the 2004 Olympics.
Joining coach Van Chancellor will be Lisa Leslie, Dawn Staley, Tamika Catchings, Shannon Johnson, DeLisha Milton-Jones, Katie Smith and Tina Thompson -- all of whom play in the WNBA.
Accused killerpleads innocent
COMPTON, Calif. -- A man accused of killing the half-sister of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams pleaded innocent to murder and other charges. The suspect, Aaron Michael Hammer, was scheduled to return to court on Oct. 22, when a date for his preliminary hearing would be set.
Chouki suspendedfor two years
PARIS -- French middle distance runner Fouad Chouki was suspended for two years for failing a drug test at the World Championships.
Chouki also was disqualified from his eighth-place showing in the 1,500 meters at the August meet, said Guy Manfredi of the French Athletics Federation. According to the FAA, Chouki tested positive for the banned performance enhancer EPO. He has denied taking the drug.
Security tightfor Bryant hearing
EAGLE, Colo. -- Security was tight around the courthouse for a hearing in Kobe Bryant's sexual assault case, with two metal detectors in place and armed guards prepared to stand watch.
Bryant's legal team faced a decision on whether go forward with a preliminary hearing, which could entail a review of some potentially damaging evidence in open court.
Security for the hearing today was beefed up after dozens of threats were made against the prosecutor, the judge and Bryant's accuser.

Worker killed
ATHENS, Greece -- A construction worker at the Olympic Village was killed when he was hit by a vehicle. The man, whose identity was not released, was the fifth worker to die at the site, said Spyros Kokkios, coordinator of the workers at the village. He gave no other details about the accident.
