CINCINNATI REDS--Activated LHP Mark Watson from the 60-day disabled list and designated him for assignment. Announced LHP Danny Serafini cleared waivers, rejected an outright assignment and elected free agency.
MONTREAL EXPOS--Announced LHP Vic Darensbourg, 1B-IF Joe Vitiello, LHP Eric Knott and C-INF Edwards Guzman have opted for free agency.
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS--Named Jeff Luhnow vice president for baseball development, and Marty Maier special assignment scout. Announced John Mozeliak, assistant general manager, will assume the tasks of scouting director.
