XBOARDMAN -- The Rev. Matthew Maciej Mankowski officiated at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at St. Charles Church for the marriage of Rebecca S. Planey and Curtis W. Carr, both of 4425 Edson Road, Kent.
After a reception at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park, Youngstown, the couple left for a honeymoon at Hocking Hills.
The bride is a daughter of Sue Planey, 49 Green Bay Drive. The groom is a son of Amy Murdy and David Carr, both of Ontario, Canada.
Mrs. Carr graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She is a nanny in Bath. Mr. Carr hold a bachelor's degree in physical education from KSU. He is a substitute teacher and head hockey coach at Orange High School, assistant hockey coach at KSU and head hockey coach with Team Ohio. They live in Kent.
The bride's white matte satin gown was styled in an A-line design and featured a cathedral train.
Mary Anna Planey, the bride's sister, was honor attendant. She wore a black and champagne dress, as did the bridesmaids, Jennifer and Kirstin Planey, her sisters; Andrea Morrison, the groom's sister; and Carrie Bernarding and Pearl Zody.
The groom's brother, Matthew Murdy, was best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Ward, his cousin; Simon McDonald, his brother-in-law; and John Moon, Brian Marino and Gary Hendrick. Ring bearer was Grace McDonald, his niece. Ushers were Michael Rutushin and Andy Saylor.
