OHIO SCHOLARSHIP
At a glance
The proposed Ohio Scholarship Program will fund the top 10 percent of Ohio's graduates with a $5,900 award renewable for up to three years.
SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship amount will increase by 5 percent each year.
If an eligible graduate doesn't accept an Ohio Scholarship, the award would go to the next student in the graduating class.
By 2009, nearly 50,000 Ohio high school students will receive a scholarship to attend college in Ohio.
SCHOOL FACILITIES
5 percent or $25 million (state share), whichever is less, will be used for primary, secondary and vocational school building construction.
LEARN AND EARN
An incentive-based scholarship program to encourage Ohio students to pursue higher education.
LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Utilization of Ohio-based businesses and community resources.
BALLOT ISSUE
Places the question on the March 2004 ballot.
