Gift of school supplies
YOUNGSTOWN -- More than 300 Cleveland Elementary School pupils received school supplies this fall thanks to the Youngstown State University Association of Classified Employees. The school was selected based on financial need, said Christine Domhoff, president of the union, which represents about 400 civil service employees at YSU.
The project was part of a Mahoning Valley Service Council of the Ohio Education Association to promote partnerships between members in local school districts and union members at the university.
Also this fall, the Youngstown Education Association presented Cleveland Elementary teachers with "Success Cards," provided by OEA, to be used to inform parents of special achievements by pupils in the classroom.
