Gran anniversary observed at Mass and party in park

XYOUNGSTOWN -- To celebrate the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. J. Kenneth Gran, 1333 Ivanhoe Ave., were honored at a Mass on Oct. 5 at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, where they were married Sept. 26, 1953, and where they are members.
Afterward they were feted by family and friends during a reception at the community center in Boardman Township Park.
Hosts for the festivities were their family members, Karen Ann and Michael Caldwell of Lordstown, Debra Marie and Warren Gratz of Boardman, and Kenneth Joseph and Janet Gran of Mineral Ridge.
Completing the family circle are seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gran, the former Mildred M. Holecko, is a homemaker.
Her husband served with the U.S. Air Force from 1943 to 1946. He was employed by Mahoning County Commissioners as an administrator and clerk of the board prior to retiring in 1993. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, AMVETS, Catholic War Veterans, Youngstown State University Alumni and Curbstone Coaches.
