Curtis jubilee marked by vow renewal, reception

XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. John Curtis, 637 Willis Ave., were guests of honor during an afternoon reception Oct. 11 at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman for the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple also renewed their wedding vows. The event was hosted by their daughter, Shelley Curtis Nicks, and her husband, William, of Suffolk, Va., and their sons, Stephen Anthony Curtis of Fort Washington, Md., and John Curtis III of Cape Canaveral, Fla. The family circle includes one grandson.
The former Eleanor Williams and Mr. Curtis exchanged marriage vows Oct. 3, 1953, in Alma, Ala.
Retiring in 1986, Mr. Curtis was employed in transportation at Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co., Campbell. He is a minister at Gospel Temple Baptist Church, where his wife serves on the deaconess board.
