YSU 30 schools to compete in Bands of America

YOUNGSTOWN -- Thirty marching bands from seven states will perform at the Bands of America Regional High School Championship on Oct. 18 in Stambaugh Stadium at Youngstown State University.
The event is hosted by the YSU Marching Pride, which is the YSU marching band. YSU Director of Bands Stephen L. Gage of Poland and Associate Director of Bands John Veneskey of North Lima are coordinators.
Marching bands from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan and New York will perform.
Preliminaries begin at 8 a.m., with finals at 7 p.m. All seats are general admission at $16 for an all-day pass. Children 8 and younger are admitted free. Preliminary- and finals-only tickets are $11. Tickets are available at the door or by calling (800) 848-2263.
