Team Northeast Ohio appoints Texas chamber exec president
A regional economic development group has appointed a Texas chamber of commerce executive as its president.
Team Northeast Ohio selected Bob Farley, 52, because of his experience in commercial development, economic development, site selection, logistics, public policy, research and engineering, the group said.
Farley is executive vice president of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce in Fort Worth, Texas. He starts his new Cleveland-based job Nov. 1.
He previously helped establish a new consulting division for Hillwood Development Corp., a real estate developer. He also had been a partner with Fantus Consulting, which serves the site selection industry, and was a deputy director with the state of Texas, where he was involved in creating the state's first Department of Commerce.
Team NEO is focused on business attraction, expansion and retention. The founding organizations were the Greater Akron Chamber, Akron Tomorrow, Cleveland Tomorrow, Greater Cleveland Growth Association, Lorain County Chamber of Commerce, Stark Development Board, Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and FirstEnergy Corp.
