Lisbon board fills administration vacancies
LISBON -- The board of education hired two key administrators Monday, including one person familiar to district residents.
Donald Mook and Phillip Clacko were given unanimous support for the jobs of principal and assistant principal, respectively, for David Anderson Jr./Sr. High School.
Mook was serving as acting principal for the district following the elevation of former principal Donald Thompson to the superintendent's post last month.
Mook previously served as assistant principal for three years and as a teacher for nine years in the district. His new annual salary will be $64,787.
Mook is also the district's technology coordinator and will continue to serve in that capacity, although in a more limited role until the board determines how to fill the position, Thompson said.
Back to school
Clacko, a retired administrator from Youngstown, was hired on a 140-day contract (until the end of the school year) at a rate of $250 per day. Clacko had retired earlier this year after serving nine years as the assistant principal at Campbell Memorial High School and had previously served as principal at Newton Falls High School. Clacko was to begin his duties at Lisbon today, Thompson said.
In other matters at Monday's special meeting, the board accepted the resignations of part-time cafeteria workers Donna Madison and Becky Peppel, and hired Deborah Kanos and Joyce Hillberry for those vacancies. They will be paid $6.25 per hour. Edward Duko was hired to fill a part-time custodial vacancy. He will be paid $7.25 per hour.
