Men's health event
AUSTINTOWN -- Humility of Mary Health partners offers Time Out for Health, a men's health event, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Oct. 18 at the Competitive Edge Center for Athletic Excellence, 1739 S. Raccoon Road. The event features health screenings, presentations by health experts and informational displays. The entry cost is $5, which includes a continental breakfast. Each screening is $10. Researcher to speak
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Cancer researcher Dr. Christopher P. Leamon, vice president of research at Endocyte, will talk about "Folate -- Targeted Technology: Recent Therapeutic Advances" at 7 p.m. Monday at Sticht Lecture Hall, Grove City College. Leamon comes to Grove City as the Albert A. Hopeman Jr. Lecturer. Endocyte is a West Lafayette, Ind.-based company developing treatment drugs for cancer and auto-immune diseases.
Prevention program
YOUNGSTOWN -- The American Heart Association offers area churches with culturally diverse congregations a free heart health and stroke prevention program Oct. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave. A continental breakfast will be provided.
