The hunt is on
Can you find a cigar box purse, grandma's tatting basket, a picture of two chairs under a tree or an Uncle Sam mechanical bank? If you can, you stand a good chance of winning one of four gift certificates to be given away in this year's Fall Scavenger Hunt sponsored by the Civic Committee of the Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce. To make it easier, the participating businesses have the items somewhere in their stores. The hunt is open to anyone 18 years or older and it runs now through Oct. 31. Scavenger hunters can visit one of the eight participating businesses, pick up a game form, find the requested item and have their form stamped by a store clerk. Participating businesses are: Courthouse Square Drygoods Co., Dotty's Sewing & amp; Alterations, The Gallery, Jodi's Hair Styling Salon, Mercer Mercantile & amp; Soda Shoppe, Mercer Hardware, Shannon's Kandy Kitchen and Showtime Video.
