Garden forum presents awards during Autumn Flower Show

YOUNGSTOWN -- Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area presented awards at the Autumn Flower Show held Sept. 13 and 14 at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center, Mill Creek Park.
Blue ribbons were won by Rebecca Hartz, Children's Green Thumb; Diana Mullens, Immaculate Heart of Mary; Pat Tarajack, Johnny Appleseed; Carol Estok and Stephanie Sheely, Lowellville; Beverly Italiano, member at large; Lynn Hoffman, Bill MacPherson, Richard Smith, Don Whitfield, Larry Whetson and James Dunn, Men's Garden Club; Martha Murphy, St. Edward's; Sheila Bowman, Salem; Pearl Marlos, Silver Leaf; and Irma Adams and Beverly Sharnek, Sweetbriar.
Winning gold seals were Sheila Bowman and Carol Estok, horticulture; Pearl Marlos, design and roses; James Dunn, vegetables; and Don Whitfield, container.
Gift certificates went to Ida Krecelic, first place; Cathy Morgan, second; and Sheila Bowman, third.
Serving as judges were Arlene Logan, Beryl Miller, Sophie Bland, Laura Smith, Judy Smith and Marya Zupancic. Dorothy Haddox was chairperson.
