Fitness and Wellness Expo
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Department of Human Performance and Exercise Science at Youngstown State University will conduct the third annual Fitness and Wellness Expo from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Kilcawley Center. Several organizations and campus departments will provide information and promote services on many topics, from cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes to nutrition, weight management and sports training.
Invited are members of the Youngstown community and YSU students, staff and faculty. Proceeds go to the local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House. For more information call (330) 941-1905, (330) 941-3652 or (330) 941-3655.
Historical markers
CANFIELD -- The Canfield Historical Society will dedicate two historical markers at 10 a.m. Saturday at the city green. The markers will be placed in front of the Old North Cemetery on the city's north side, and the site of Mahoning County's first courthouse on the south end of The Green.
Band festival
SALEM -- High school bands will participate in a band festival set for 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at Reilly Stadium on East Pershing Street. Admission is $5. Those under 12 get in free. Besides the Salem band, other participating bands will include those from South Range, Crestview, West Branch, Lisbon, Leetonia, Beaver and United.
Organizational meetings
VIENNA -- Trumbull County 4-H Shooting Sports Pioneers will have its 2004 organizational meetings Oct. 17 and Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. for archery and 6:30 p.m. for firearms in the Fish and Game Club of Vienna, state Route 193. Future meetings will be the second and fourth Fridays of January and first and third Fridays of February through May. Children age 9 through 18 and their parents are invited. Trustees to meet
POLAND -- Township trustees will meet in special session at 4 p.m. Monday in township hall, 3339 Dobbins Road, to discuss finances for current and future projects.
