POLAND -- The Prodigal Media Company has added four new employees.
Karen Brown recently joined Prodigal as media director, coming from Trone Advertising in Greensboro, N.C. where she was vice president and associate media director. She has a bachelor's degree in communications from Bowling Green State University and has 14 years of experience in advertising and communications.
Jennifer Samuel is the new public relations director, with more than 18 years of public relations experience. She had been senior account supervisor in public relations for Innis Maggiore Group, based in Canton. She also has a bachelor's degree in communications from BGSU.
Jason Fellows was hired as web designer, having come from Marcus Thomas LLC in Beachwood where he was new media designer. He is a 1999 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in graphic design.
Khaled Tabarra is associate producer/copywriter for the agency. His educational background is in broadcast communications and religious studies. He was formerly promotions director for a local dance club.
BANKING
YOUNGSTOWN -- Home Savings and Loan has hired Kenneth D. Ramacciato as vice president of its Northcentral Ohio Division. With more than 20 years of banking experience, Ramacciato previously served as regional vice president at Metropolitan Bank & amp; Trust, and as vice president of business banking at Sky Bank. He is a graduate of Kent State University and lives in Mayfield Village, Ohio.
ACCOUNTING
YOUNGSTOWN -- Packer Thomas, a certified public accounting and business consulting firm, has added Richard A. Schafer as a principal in its Youngstown office. Schafer, a CPA, has a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University and more than 15 years of accounting experience. He lives in Boardman.
CANFIELD -- Schroedel, Scullin & amp; Bestic, LLC, a certified public accounting and business advisory firm, has promoted three employees and added three to its staff.
Janice T. Jasinski, a CPA, has been promoted to manager. She has more than a decade of accounting experience and joined the firm in 1996. She has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.
Pamela J. Mihalik was named senior team accountant. A CPA with nine years' experience, she has an associate degree in applied business and a bachelor's degree in business administration, both from YSU. She joined the Canfield firm in 1999.
Also promoted was Tracie L. Stephens, a CPA named senior team accountant. She came to the firm in 2001 and has more than nine years' accounting experience. She has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Akron.
The firm hired Jacquelyn M. Kauffman, Chris P. Pascarella and Tony Mancini as team accountants.
Kauffman has a bachelor's degree in telecommunications and a master's degree in business administration, both from YSU. She earned an accounting certificate from the University of Pittsburgh, where she worked for another accounting firm, and had been program manager for the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber. Pascarella and Mancini are both recent YSU graduates, both with bachelor's degrees in business administration.

AUSTINTOWN -- Jennifer Neiman of Austintown is a new consultant for Tastefully Simple, a national direct sales company based in Alexandria, Minn. The company's representatives conduct in-home presentations of gourmet foods.
