Surprise dinner party held in park to honor Collinses on anniversary

XBOARDMAN -- Friends and relatives gathered Aug. 30 at the Elton Beard Family Cabin in Boardman Township Park for a surprise dinner party arranged in honor of Mr. and Mrs. John Collins of Boardman on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were the couple's family, Darlene Halloran and Trisha Collins, both of Poland, and John and Joyce Collins of Fairlawn. Also participating were their four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
The former Patricia Boughner and Mr. Collins were married Aug. 22, 1953, in St. Francis Church, Youngstown. They are members of St. Charles Church.
Mr. Collins was a conductor for the New York Central and Conrail Railroad for 41 years prior to retiring in 1995. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. His wife is a homemaker.
