Ruffners observe golden event by renewing vows

XAUSTINTOWN -- A reception Oct. 4 at the Das Dutch Haus in Columbiana honored Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Ruffner, 39 N. Four Mile Run Road, who also marked their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their marriage vows.
The former Lois Jean Little and Mr. Ruffner were married Oct. 6, 1953, at the home of the bride's parents in Austintown.
The honorees' children and spouses were hosts for the festivity. They are Charles III "Chip" and Lucy Ruffner, Viki and Joe Conley and Steve and Michaele Ruffner, all of Austintown, and Brad and Cheryl Ruffner of Lake Milton.
The family circle also includes seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Ruffner are members of Mecca Community Church in Cortland, where they are members of the choir.
Mrs. Ruffner is an Avon representative in Austintown.
Now retired, Mr. Ruffner worked at General Motors Corp. in Lordstown. He served in the U.S. Air Force and also worked with various mission groups building houses in South America and Africa.
