XNILES -- After a honeymoon in the Fiji Islands, Troy Matthew Roat and his bride, Dr. Rebecca Marie Ortenzio, live in San Diego. They were married Aug. 30 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. The Rev. John Trimbur presided at the 2:30 p.m. wedding, and a reception was held at the Holiday Inn in Boardman.
Dr. Joseph and Nancy Ortenzio Jr. of New Middletown are parents of the bride, and the groom's parents are John and Judith Roat of Sunset, La.
White and silver crystals adorned the bodice of the bride's strapless organza gown, and it featured an A-line skirt and detachable cathedral train.
Honor attendant was Melissa Seman, and bridesmaids were Krista Bader; Jennifer Campbell; and Shauna Thoene and Kelly Hart, the bride's cousins. Junior bridesmaid was Gabrielle Belli, her cousin. They were gowned in celadon green. Flower girl was her cousin, Natalia Palombi.
The groom's father served as best man, and groomsmen were Jeff Asnicar; Kim Thurman; Brian Roat, the groom's brother; and Aaron Ortenzio, a brother of the bride. Her cousin, Zachary Hart, was ring bearer.
The bride, who is retaining her maiden name, graduated from Youngstown State University and from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She is a dental officer with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Duluth at San Diego.
The groom, a dive instructor with the U.S. Navy at the Basic Underwater Demolition School in San Diego, is attending the National University in San Diego.
