XBOARDMAN -- A reception at Antone's Banquet Centre followed the Aug. 31 wedding of Dr. Maria Yiannaki and Atty. Nicholas Michael Varveris. The Rev. Thomas Constantine officiated at 3 p.m. at St. John Greek Orthodox Church for the daughter of Dr. Harold and Efi Yiannaki of Boardman and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Varveris, also of Boardman.
The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and are living in Columbus.
A strapless silk gown embellished with crystal beading was worn by the bride.
Matron of honor was Dr. Carrie Priebe, and bridesmaids were Samya Papes, Erin Yiannaki, Alexa Forosty, Frances Michas and Brienne Wiltsie. Flower girls were Sophia Brickey-Stanos, Alexandria Michas, and Alexandra and Ariana Varveris.
Groomsmen were Dr. Michael Varveris, Dr. Peter Stanos, Nicolas Stanos, Dr. Andrew Michas, Nicolas Yiannaki and Anthony Varveris. Ring bearer was Niko Mastorides.
Koumbari were Georgia Wiltsie and Dr. Peter Zafirides.
The bride graduated magna cum laude from Youngstown State University and earned her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus and is in practice with Central Ohio Medicine Group, Columbus. Her husband holds degrees from YSU and received his juris doctorate from Ohio State University. He is a hearing officer for the Ohio Industrial Commission in Columbus.
