Cosmetology class now offers services



CANFIELD -- The senior cosmetology class at Mahoning County Career & amp; Technical Center has begun accepting customers.
The MCCTC salon will be open to the public between noon and 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays during the school year. The school is on Palmyra Road in Canfield Township.
Appointments are required, and may be made by calling the beauty salon at (330) 729-4000, Ext. 1708. All work is done under the licensed supervision of Linda Tomko, cosmetology instructor at the technical center.
The salon will offer a wide range of services including sets, thermal styling, perms, relaxers, hair coloring and highlighting, hair removal, manicures, therapeutic waxing and facials. Fees are based on the services provided.
The center's two-year cosmetology course for high school students is licensed by the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology and enables a successful graduate to take the state exam for licensing in Ohio. Cosmetology students learn all phases of hair design, nail care, skin care, professional ethics and shop management.
