GIRARD
Sept. 28
Arrest: After stopping a vehicle for running a red light on State Street, police arrested a 19-year-old Youngstown woman wanted on a warrant charging her with passing bad checks. She also was charged with driving with a suspended license and obstructing official business after officers say she gave them false information about her identity.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke an office window at A & amp;M Towing & amp; Road Service Inc., 1200 S. State St., cut a screen and pried open a filing cabinet. Several personal checks and $500 were missing.
Criminal damage: Someone threw a landscaping brick through a vehicle's windshield, damaging its windshield and hood, in the 600 block of Ward Avenue.
Sept. 29
Recovered property: Austintown police recovered a 1996 Cutlass Ciera stolen from Rick's Family Motors, 940 N. State St.
Recovered property: A woman in the 100 block of Church Hill Road found two flags and two lawn ornaments, thought to be stolen, in her front yard.
Sept. 30
Theft: An inflatable pumpkin was taken from a front yard in the 200 block of East Main Street.
Theft: A lawn ornament and two pickets were removed from a fence in the 100 block of East Main Street.
LIBERTY
Sept. 21
Breaking and entering: Police discovered the front door ajar at Brother's Discount, 1282 Trumbull Ave., as well as pry marks on the door.
Sept. 23
Recovered property: A 1988 Olds 88 that was stolen in Youngstown was recovered in the Liberty Plaza parking lot, 3551 Belmont Ave. The vehicle had a broken driver's-side rear window.
Theft/criminal damage: Someone stole a compact-disc player from a car and damaged its dashboard in the Belair Trailer Park on Belmont Avenue.
Arrests: After responding to a stolen vehicle report on Motor Inn Drive, police arrested two Youngstown boys, both 17, near Belmont Avenue and Euclid Boulevard. Each was charged with receiving stolen property and being delinquent juveniles.
Sept. 24
Theft: An employee at The Encore Shop, 4427 Logan Way, discovered someone took four envelopes containing cash receipts and $100 from her purse that was in an office.
Robbery: Police arrested a 39-year-old Youngstown man outside the American Inn, 1600 Motor Inn Drive, on a robbery charge after a North Benton man said the suspect chased him into his room, beat him up and stole a bank card and $80.
Sept. 25
Recovered property: A 2000 Ford Focus stolen in Niles was recovered in the Liberty Plaza parking lot.
Theft: Someone removed a $7,500 iron arch from a residence in the 4600 block of Logan Way.
Criminal damage: Someone wrote a message on a car's driver's-side mirror and used a key to damage the vehicle's paint in the 1700 block of Naylor-Lloyd Road.
Theft: A vehicle's driver-side vent window was smashed, and four radial tires, two car batteries, an AM-FM/CD player with an amplifier, and an Ohio driver's license were stolen, in the 2900 block of Roosevelt Drive.
Theft: A woman reported her cellular phone stolen while she was on Belmont Avenue.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a Youngstown man, 43, on a domestic-violence charge after a woman in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive said he threatened to harm her when she refused to watch his child. He also was wanted on two counts of failure to appear in court.
Sept. 26
Theft: A man in the 4400 block of Logan Way discovered a leaf blower and a weed trimmer stolen from his garage.
Arrest: After responding to a report of an abandoned vehicle in the 200 block of Colonial Drive, police arrested a 24-year-old Youngstown man on one count of failure to appear in court to face a theft charge.
Sept. 27
Theft: A Sellersville, Pa., woman staying at the American Inn reported that a 32-year-old New Castle, Pa., man stole an envelope containing $250 from her purse in her room.
Theft: Someone removed a rear license plate from a vehicle in the 100 block of Warner Road.
Criminal damage: A man in the 1600 block of Lucretia Drive reported someone took an 8-inch-by-12-inch American flag from his yard and broke the wooden pole it was attached to.
Sept. 28
Arrest: Police arrested a 19-year-old Youngstown woman at the Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St., on a warrant charging her with passing bad checks.
Criminal damage: A vehicle in the 6700 block of Sodom-Hutchings Road had a passenger-side window broken.
Burglary: A man in the 6000 block of Lakeview Drive came home and discovered his residence had been ransacked after someone broke in through a back porch and bathroom window. An undetermined number of items was missing.
Sept. 29
Auto theft: A 1994 Olds Cutlass was stolen in the 2900 block of Oakland Drive.
Arrest: After pulling over a car on Gypsy Lane for having expired license plates, police issued a 20-year-old Youngstown man three traffic citations. He also was charged with drug abuse (cocaine) after officers say they found a bag of suspected cocaine in the vehicle's front seat area. Two smaller bags containing suspected cocaine also were found.
Theft: A woman in the 400 block of Richards Drive reported a credit card, cellular phone and $9 taken from her car.
Criminal damage: An employee at Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way, reported someone used a key to damage her vehicle's paint while the car was parked at the school.

Sept. 23
Criminal damage: Four men attempted to break into vehicles parked at Reed Middle School, 150 Hall Ave.
Sept. 24
Drugs: A West Liberty Street woman said she saw three people smoking marijuana outside her residence.
Sept. 25
Assault: A Hagar Street woman reported being assaulted and menaced.
Sept. 26
Drugs: A Church Street woman alleged smelling suspected marijuana smoke coming from an apartment beneath hers.
Sept. 27
Vandalism: An employee at Deer Creek Golf Course, 7691 E. Liberty St., reported someone drove a golf cart into a nearby ravine.
Criminal mischief: A man reported someone threw a rock at his vehicle parked on Saul Drive.
Sept. 28
Theft: A man discovered his checkbook stolen from his vehicle while he attended a football game at a field near Jackson Street.
Criminal mischief: Someone used a key to damage a vehicle's paint in the First Baptist Church of Hubbard parking lot, 59 Orchard Ave.
Arrest: After a traffic stop in the Sav-a-Step parking lot, 6390 Youngstown-Hubbard Road, a West Liberty Street man was arrested on one count of failure to appear in court to answer a charge of driving under a suspended license.
Sept. 29
Theft: An employee at Patton's IGA Super Center, 880 W. Liberty St., reported someone tried to steal a car parked behind the store, and that various items had been removed from the vehicle.
Sept. 30
Theft: A woman watching a home for sale in the 900 block of Waugh Drive discovered some items missing when she returned to the residence.
