Man jailed, woman treated after dispute
NILES -- A domestic dispute between a live-in couple landed the man in jail on a domestic violence charge and the woman in the hospital for treatment for injuries and ingesting drugs.
Brian Parsons, no age available, of Royal Mall Drive, was expected to appear in Niles Municipal Court on the charge this morning.
According to reports, when police arrived at the couple's home at 5:47 a.m. today, they found the woman locked inside the downstairs bathroom. She told officers her boyfriend had punched her in the face.
During questioning, Parsons told police he got mad after his girlfriend took 15 anti-depressant pills and ignored the cries of their 9-month-old child. Parsons also told police they had both been smoking about $2,500 worth of crack cocaine, reports said.
Children Services was contacted to take custody of the couple's 4-year-old and 9-month-old children.
