FOOTBALL DiFiore's TD strikes key Warren JFK win over Steubenville Catholic Central



WARREN -- John DiFiore passed for two first-quarter touchdowns Saturday to lead the Warren John F. Kennedy football team to a 17-0 victory over Steubenville Catholic Central at Mollenkopf Stadium.
DiFiore completed 14-of-22 passes for 152 yards and the two touchdowns, which went to Adam Rossi and Shane Golden.
Kicker Russell Accordino booted a 35-yard field goal in the third quarter for the Eagles (5-1).
Anthony Ambeliotis rushed for 79 yards on 19 carries and Anthony Elzy added 72 yards on 10 carries for JFK, which totaled 293 yards to Steubenville's 131.
Southington 45, Pymatuning Valley 6
ANDOVER -- Thad James rushed for three touchdowns as the Wildcats (4-1) routed Pymatuning Valley.
James scored on runs of 13, 3 and 63 yards for Southington, which had taken a 32-6 lead at halftime.
Zack Stalnaker added two touchdowns for the Wildcats. He scored on a 94-yard interception return and a 5-yard run.
Southington also scored off a fumble recovery, when Dominic Chiarella ran 34 yards to the end zone.
