Bullets fired into 3 homes in city; nobody injured

YOUNGSTOWN -- Three houses were shot up over the weekend.
Early Sunday, police found that 10 to 15 bullets had been fired at the front of a house in the 300 block of East Lucius Avenue, with some of the bullets penetrating the walls.
The house was empty at the time because the residents, fearing trouble from a previous altercation with one suspect, stayed at a relative's house. The shooting occurred at 2 a.m. but wasn't reported until 9:44 a.m., reports show.
At 10:42 p.m. Saturday, police responded to gunfire in the 100 block of Upland Avenue on the North Side. The officers found a house with multiple bullet holes. Five people found inside do not live at the address. Police confiscated a scale, suspected marijuana, $1,094 and turned the investigation over to the vice squad. No arrests were made.
At 10:45 p.m. Saturday, at least 11 shots were fired into a house in the 500 block of Harmon Avenue on the South Side. One bullet sailed through the shirt of a 19-year-old Struthers man but didn't strike his body. Two children, ages 4 and 8, who were in the living room, were not injured.
