Canfield (477 wins) is ranked 13th among girls programs in Ohio -- the only area team among the top 30. Toledo Central Catholic is first with 562 wins.
Boardman girls basketball coach Ron Moschella (431-105) is ranked 10th all-time in wins among Ohio girls basketball coaches. Karen Wittrock of Lutheran West is first (572-169).
Boardman's Celeste Hlebovy holds the area record for career free throws (459), which is sixth in Ohio -- just ahead of fellow Spartan Christine Moschella (439). Mooney's Pandora Fecko is 10th with 427.
Canfield's Jenny Kulics holds the state record for 3-pointers in a season with 106, set in 1991-92. She also holds area records for career points (2,114 -- 25th in Ohio), career 3-pointers (261 -- 3rd) and career assists (261 -- 3rd).
Struthers' Christie Zetts holds the area record for 3-pointers in a game with nine, which is tied for fourth in the state.
Salem senior Lauren Teal is 13th all-time for blocks in a season (92) and career blocks (185). She has a long way to go to catch Wendy Reiner of Elmore Woodmore, who has 430 career blocks.
Liberty's Kiki Cohen holds the state record for highest free throw percentage in a season (90.2).
Champion's Andrea Kyser holds area records for rebounds in a season (399 -- 10th in Ohio) and a career (1,264 -- seventh). Fellow Flash Tracey Lynn is tied with Howland's Angela Cape for seventh all-time with a 58.2 percent career field goal percentage.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association made a profit of $89,359.99 from last year's state tournament -- down from a record of $140,224.01 in 2000.
