BOXING 'Thanksgiving Feast' set for Krakusy Hall



The 12-bout card features Youngstown's Durrell Richardson.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Jack Loew will hold his second "Thanksgiving Feast" amateur boxing show on Wednesday at Krakusy Hall on South Avenue.
The feature fight on the 12-bout card will be a 152-pound matchup between Akron's Glenn Dunning and Youngstown's Durrell Richardson.
Richardson (38-6) was last year's 147-pound national Gold Gloves champion and is ranked eighth nationally in the 152-pound amateur weight class. He is the nephew of former World Bantamweight champion Greg Richardson and the son of former boxer Chester Richardson.
Dunning has won more than 60 amateur fights and is ranked sixth nationally.
Richardson will be one of 10 Southside Boxing Club fighters in action Wednesday. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the first fight starting at 7.
On the card
Early bouts include local fighter Julius Thomas against Cleveland's Ed Elaeea in a 114-pound fight; female fighters Sandy Torres (Loew's) against Cleveland's Angelina Parker in a 156-pound fight; and Cleveland's Demarlo Thomas and Erie Street fighter Ron Pezzuolo in a 156-pounder.
Southside's Charlie Fagan (119) will fight Akron's Mike Snyder; Southside's Chris Hazimahalis (128) will fight Cleveland's Felix Colon; Lou Zamudio (Poland, Loew's) will face Cleveland's Cliff McPherson in a 142-pounder; and Juan Salinas (Loew's) will fight an 85-pound Junior Olympic bout against Cleveland's Antonio Howard.
Darnell Boone (Loew's) will face Akron's Ken Porter in a 165-pounder and Marcus Forest (Loew's) will fight Cleveland's Mathew Mills.
Dan Ramun (Poland), who is trained by John Hobart, will fight McDonald's Larry Polling, who is trained by Hall of Famer Tony Maiorana.
Warren's Zach Page, who went to the Nationals as a Cleveland Golden Glove champion last year, will fight a four-round heavyweight bout with Cleveland's Ron Johnson.
All reserved seats have been sold, but $10 general admission seats will be available at the door.
