YOUNGSTOWN Official collects casings where teen was killed

YOUNGSTOWN -- To protect evidence in the weekend shooting death of 16-year-old James Revere, Councilman Richard Atkinson, R-3rd, collected several shell casings from a North Side intersection.
As of this morning, no arrests had been made.
Revere, no address available, died around 1:30 p.m. Sunday from multiple gunshot wounds, including at least one to his left temple. He was found in a 1990 Oldsmobile 88 that belongs to a First Street woman.
The bullet-riddled car came to rest in front of 710 Hayman Street, with Revere slumped over the front seat. The car had five bullet holes in the hood and driver's side window, and one tire and the headlights had been shot out.
Atkins told police that he gathered the casings from the intersection of Hayman and Covington Street to protect them from traffic.
Revere is the city's 17th homicide victim this year. At this time last year, the city had recorded 31 homicides.
