KENT -- Joshua Cribbs ran 12 times for 161 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 211 yards and another score to lead Kent State past Buffalo 34-24 Saturday in the season finale for both teams.
Cribbs scored on an 80-yard run with 2:57 left in the first half to give Kent State (5-7, 4-4 Mid-American Conference) a 20-3 lead.
Cribbs also scored on a 56-yard run with 10:11 remaining in the game, capping a five-play, 67-yard drive.
He completed 16 of 38 passes, including a 4-yard TD pass to Neil Buckosh with 19 seconds left in the first half to cap a five-play, 70-yard drive.
Kent State also scored on Travis Mayle field goals of 42 yards in the first quarter and 30 yards in the second and an 8-yard TD run by Elijah Brooks with 5:20 left in the second half.
Buffalo (1-11, 1-7) was led by P.J. Piskorik, who completed 18 of 24 passes, including two TD passes to Matt Kneuven, 23 yards in the second quarter and 2 yards in the fourth.
Miami, Ohio 49, Ohio 31
ATHENS -- Ben Roethlisberger threw four touchdown passes against a depleted defense, and No. 18 Miami (Ohio) rolled to its 10th straight victory.
The RedHawks (10-1, 7-0 MAC) shattered school records for points and yards in a season while extending their longest winning streak since 1975.
Miami had no problems against Ohio (2-9, 1-6), which has lost five in a row overall and nine of its last 10 games against Miami.
Ryne Robinson returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown, helping Miami pile up the most points by either team during the 58-year rivalry. It was the highest-scoring game in the conference's oldest rivalry.
Roethlisberger threw touchdown passes of 33, 28 and 17 yards in the first half for a 35-10 lead. His 2-yard touchdown pass to Martin Nance made it 49-10 with 39 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
Roethlisberger completed 19-of-28 for 294 yards in only three quarters. The junior quarterback broke his previous school record with 3,532 yards for the season, and matched his school record of 290 completions in a season.
Roethlisberger, Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich are the only MAC quarterbacks to throw for 3,000 yards in each of three seasons.
Eleven Bobcats have suffered season-ending injuries, including all four starting linebackers and two of their backups. Safety Rashad Butler was helped off the field in the second quarter with a leg injury, and Roethlisberger threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to tight end Matt Brandt on the next play.
Ohio alternated four quarterbacks without success in its option-based offense. Ryan Hawk, who spent his first two years at Miami as a backup, played the first quarter before the shuffle began.
Bowling Green 41, Ball St. 14
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Josh Harris threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more to lead 22nd-ranked Bowling Green.
Harris, who came into the game fourth in the nation in total offense with 330 yards a game, threw touchdown passes of 36 and 19 yards and scored on runs of 1 and 2 yards for the Falcons (9-2, 6-1 MAC).
Scott Blair had 10 carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns to lead Ball State (4-8, 3-5), which lost its fourth game in a row.
N. Illinois 38, E. Michigan 24
DEKALB, Ill. -- Michael Turner rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns as Northern Illinois earned its second 10-win season in school history.
Turner had two second half touchdowns as Northern Illinois (10-2, 6-2 MAC) scored 25 points off four Eastern Michigan turnovers. Turner scored on runs of 59, 31 and 3 yards.
Navy 63, Central Michigan 34
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Craig Candeto ran for 150 yards and three touchdowns, and Navy (7-4) clinched its first winning season since 1997.
Eric Roberts and Kyle Eckel had two touchdowns apiece for Navy, which enjoyed its most prolific scoring outburst since a 64-point effort against Duke in 1996.
Navy, the leading rushing team in the nation, amassed 530 yards on the ground -- second most in school history. Eckel finished with 167 and Roberts had 93 on only four carries.
The Midshipmen scored 35 straight points after a 9-yard touchdown pass from Derrick Vickers to Steve Messam gave Central Michigan a 7-0 lead.
