STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Tony Allen scored 18 points and Ivan McFarlin added 15 in No. 25 Oklahoma State's 90-62 victory over Northwestern State on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.
The Cowboys defense forced 27 turnovers and Janavor Weatherspoon and Joey Graham each had 13 points to help Oklahoma State win its 29th straight nonconference game at home.
Jermaine Wallace had 14 points and Clifton Lee 12 for Northwestern State. The Demons, the youngest team in the NCAA last season, started five sophomores.
John Lucas capped an 8-0 run, featuring three layups and a dunk, as the Cowboys took a 16-6 lead. Oklahoma State forced two turnovers in that span and turned two Demons misses into fast breaks.
Northwestern State never got closer than seven again.
Joey Graham and Ivan McFarlin each had two baskets in a 10-0 run that smothered a small rally and put Oklahoma State up 37-20 with 5:11 remaining in the half.
Brothers Joey and Steven Graham ignited the Cowboys off the bench, with Joey scoring 13 points and Steven adding six, in the half. Oklahoma State led 51-31 at halftime as Northwestern State turned the ball over 15 times.
Stephen Graham finished with 12 points.
The Cowboys' defense held the Demons to 40 percent shooting and had 15 steals. Northwestern State turned the ball over on its first four possessions of the second half and on five of its first seven as Oklahoma State expanded its lead to 25 early in the period.
Oklahoma State led by as many as 29 points, 86-57, when Weatherspoon hit a 3-pointer with 3:15 remaining.
