COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Caity Matter scored 17 points and No. 16 Ohio State shot 61 percent from the field to beat Ohio 83-50 on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.
Jessica Davenport and Kim Wilburn added 15 points each for the Buckeyes, who built a 44-20 lead by shooting 15-for-25 in the first half. Ohio State finished 27-for-44 from the floor while holding the Bobcats to 34 percent (17-for-50) shooting.
Michelle Munoz, a sophomore who sat out last season after transferring from Tennessee, scored eight points in her Ohio State debut. She is the daughter of former Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Anthony Munoz.
Latreece Bagley led Ohio with 14 points and Elizabeth Brown added 11.
