Sharon police arrest robbery suspect after foot chase

SHARON, Pa. -- Police arrested a robbery suspect after a foot chase in the Quinby and Malleable streets area.
Police said they had a warrant for Robert A. Coleman, 23, of 330 Quinby Street when they went to his apartment around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. A woman who answered the door, Michelle L. McCrary, 20, said he wasn't there, but police said they saw him jump out a second-floor window in an escape attempt.
Officers chased him to Malleable Street and back to Quinby before finally catching him at Quinby and Ravine Place.
He was arraigned before District Justice James McMahon, who ordered him held in Mercer County Jail on $50,000 bond on charges of robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, theft, receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct, recklessly endangering another person and possession of an instrument of crime.
He is accused of robbing a Sharon man of his clothing and shoes at gunpoint at the corner of Quinby and Spearman Avenue on July 31. Coleman struck the victim on the back of the head with a gun, police said.
McCrary was arrested on a charge of hindering apprehension, arraigned and released on her own recognizance.
