Official's request: Fire Hill View CFO
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- One Lawrence County commissioner's request that the chief financial officer at Hill View Manor be fired was met with silence.
During Thursday's caucus meeting, Ed Fosnaught motioned that the CFO of the county nursing home be terminated. Commissioner Brian Burick did not second the motion, however.
Burick and Fosnaught were the only commissioners who attended the meeting. Commissioner Roger DeCarbo was in Pittsburgh, the chief clerk said.
Burick agreed something needed to be done, but he said a personnel decision should first be made in executive session and then announced in public. Executive sessions are meetings not open to the public and are permitted for personnel matters.
Fosnaught said after the meeting that he has requested action be taken at executive sessions, but the three commissioners cannot come to an agreement.
The nursing home's CFO has been on paid leave since the end of July when commissioners were alerted that county money had ended up in the private bank accounts of a group trying to buy the nursing home.
