Miriam Chapter 278 installs officers



YOUNGSTOWN -- The 96th annual installation for officers of Miriam Chapter 278, Order of the Eastern Star, took place Nov. 18 at Youngstown Masonic Temple, Wick Avenue.
Officers are Blanche Costanza, worthy matron; Jack Maxwell, worthy patron; Susan Gillam, associate matron; Russell W. Gillam Jr., worthy patron; Judy Elliott, secretary; Elberta Scott, treasurer; Merry Beth Vargo, conductress; Barbara T. Parker, associate conductress; Rose Marie Roth, chaplain; Harry Booty, marshal; Marion Brownlee, organist; Norma Wise, Ada; Laurie Hernandez, Ruth; Elaine Hippley, Esther; Jean Layne, Martha; Jean McClure, Electa; Eugene Woodworth, warder; Carole Maxwell, sentinel; and Wilma Payne, Evelyn Bosley, Jean Mook and Pat Grimes, pages.
Installing officers
The installation was conducted by Susan Gillam, installing officer; Patrick Pinney of Sunrise Chapter 458, assistant installing officer; Naomi Garver, installing marshal; Martha Sulik, introductory officer; Jean Olzak, installing chaplain; and Freddie Allen, Columbiana Chapter 428, installing organist.
Honorary installing officers were Geraldine Thompson, associate matron; Richard Thompson, associate patron; Lucille Bartelmay, secretary; Mary Sokol, treasurer; Nancy Koehler, conductress; Winnie Hill, associate conductress; Betty Young, Ada; Beverly Mitchell, Ruth; Betty McIntyre, Esther; Martha Woodworth, Martha; Linda Woolford, Electa; and James B. Parker IV, chair aides.
Refreshments were served in the by Ruth Shrine 64, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Poland.
A stated meeting is planned Tuesday, and will focus on Thanksgiving.
