Commission finishes human services guide

MERCER, Pa. -- The Mercer County Commission for Women has completed The Human Resource Directory, a pamphlet guide to county human services and offices.
The first copy was presented to Commissioner Olivia Lazor, the county's liaison to the commission and an advocate in the development of the guide. Copies will be given to service providers, libraries and public buildings.
A needs survey is also being distributed for women to complete and return to the commission.
The commission plans some spring events.
There will be an essay-writing contest open to all county schools in March, and the Distinguished Women Awards ceremony will be held in May.
The commission, formed 13 years ago by the Mercer County commissioners, aims to identify women's needs and establish programs for them.
