ARTS AND CRAFTS Annual holiday event planned at Butler



Proceeds from the event will benefit children's programs at the museum.
YOUNGSTOWN -- "An American Holiday at the Butler" is the theme of the 33rd annual fine arts and crafts show and sale planned at the Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave.
A preview party will take place Dec. 5 and the show is planned for Dec. 6 and 7.

Butler members will host the preview from 7 to 10 p.m. at the museum. The cost is $20 a person and $25 for guests of members. The event will feature a cash bar, hors d'ouevres and entertainment by the Youngstown Connection, Jocko the Clown and caricaturist Richard Muccio. A gift will be given to each person in attendance.

About the show
Hours for the event are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 6 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7. More than 100 artists and crafters from across the nation will show such items as jewelry, furniture, ceramics, paintings, sculpture, wood, photography, decorative crafts, metal, glass and fiber art.
A special feature will be a display of porcelain and fabric angels created by Connecticut sculptor Dianne B. Bernhard.
Admission is $3, and children under 12 years old will be admitted free. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Butler children's programs.
Free parking is available in the Youngstown State University parking decks.
