Dellarose to appearon television show
YOUNGSTOWN -- Senior linebacker Justin Dellarose will be featured on The Football Network's "Football 101" Spike TV show Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The show airs on cable networks nationally.
Dellarose wore a microphone during the YSU-Western Kentucky game last Saturday and will be a part of a segment entitled "Star Sounds."
WKU's Erik Dandy also wore a microphone during the game.

MUC player selected for academics
ALLIANCE -- Mount Union college junior outside hitter Kris Barker earned 2003 academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball honorable mention.
A mathematics major with a 3.28 grade-point average, Barker also earned all-conference honorable mention.
She was second on the team in kills (375), helping the Purple Raiders to a 25-10 overall record and 6-3 in the OAC.
Area ace
COITSVILLE -- Russell Thomas of Hubbard made a hole-in-one at Bedford Trails Golf Course. He aced the No. 8 hole, 125 yards with a 6-iron.
Witnessing the shot were Jesse Hall, Jack White, Jim Govazza and Frank Cvetkovic.
Hobbs players
FLORIDA -- Several area baseball players are participating in the Hobbs 60-and-over World Series through Nov. 23.
Competing are Ed Garasic (coach) and George Svatosky of Youngstown, Ron Divincenzo of Boardman, Jake Seelbaugh and Jerry Deal of Hubbard, Dan Dunleavy of Struthers, Bob Blubaugh of Salem, Charles Click of East Liverpool, Augie Agosti of Sylvania, Allen Green of Alliance, George Hughes (manager) of Canton, Chuck McNally of Sharon, Pa. and Jim Patterson of Greenville, Pa.

Boardman graduate95th in regional race
TIFFIN -- Heidelberg College junior Tim DiVito, a graduate of Boardman Highl, placed 95th in a field of 225 runners at the NCAA Div. III Great Lakes cross country meet.
DiVito ran a time of 28 minutes, 7 seconds in the 8K race, third best for Heidelberg.
Scrappers hire Walsh
NILES -- The Mahoning Valley Scrappers have added Chris Walsh to the front office staff next summer.
Walsh will assume the duties of head groundskeeper and director of stadium operations.
Walsh is a native of Boardman and a Kent State graduate.
All-PAC football
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Junior free safety Kennard Davis' (Farrell) was named to the Presidents' Athletic Conference first team for the third consecutive season.
Other Thiel players earning first team were sophomore offensive lineman Nelton Neal (Warren Harding) and junior linebacker Robert Drake (Chaney).
Westminster placed 15 on the teams, including first teamers Glenn Silvidi (Hubbard), a senior guard; Brian Ekis (Boardman), a senior receiver, and Don Waldron (Lakeview), a senior defensive end.
Senior Jim Chaney (Hubbard) and junior Phil Frye (Mineral Ridge) were named to the second team.

USATF report
DENVER -- USA Track & amp; Field submitted a 23-page report to the U.S. Olympic Committee outlining how it intends to eliminate doping in the sport and curtail athlete conduct issues.
Details of the report were not released. A seven-person advisory panel for track & amp; field will review the documents and forward comments to the USOC's executive committee, which will determine an appropriate action.
Baseball moves
* CLEVELAND -- Milton Bradley agreed to a $1.73 million, one-year contract with the Cleveland Indians, who avoided going to salary arbitration with the talented outfielder.
* SEATTLE -- Free-agent outfielder Raul Ibanez agreed to a $13.25 million, three-year contract with the Seattle Mariners. Ibanez came up in Seattle's system but saw limited action, and spent the past two years in Kansas City.
Illini players benched
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Illinois coach Bruce Weber has benched two players for the first two games of the season and a third for four games for violating unspecified team rules.
Junior Luther Head and redshirt freshman Aaron Spears already had sat out Illinois' two exhibition games, so their suspensions will total four games. Freshman Richard McBride's suspension will begin with Saturday's season opener against Western Illinois.

GERMANTOWN, Md. -- David Testo had two goals and an assist to lead the United States to a 4-0 victory over St. Kitts and Nevis on Wednesday night in the second leg of a second-round CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying series.
The Americans won both games of the series, outscoring St. Kitts and Nevis 10-0 to advance to the final round of qualifying for the 2004 Olympics in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Feb. 2-12.
WORLD
U.S. makes finals
MOSCOW -- Lisa Raymond clinched a spot in the Fed Cup finals for the United States, beating Belgium's Elke Clijsters 6-2, 6-1 today.
The U.S., which won the best-of-five semifinal series 3-1, will try for its 18th Fed Cup title against the winner of the Russia-France series in the finals over the weekend.
