Aces scouting report: Amanda-Clearcreek has reached the Division V state semifinals six times in the past eight seasons, twice winning the state championship -- in 1999 and 2000. The Aces run the power option behind quarterback Sam Davis (junior) and running back Ray Sowers (junior). Sowers has rushed for 1,200 yards, but has only been the starter since the sixth week of the season. He has scored 14 touchdowns, while Davis has passed for 528 yards and six touchdowns. The Aces are 23-10 in the postseason under coach Ron Hinton, who is in his 23rd season as coach; he has been to the playoffs in 13 of those seasons. The Aces compete in the Mid-State League, where they have won 13 titles, including the past two seasons.

Eagles scouting report: JFK has outscored three playoff opponents, 118-41. Last week, JFK had a 7-0 halftime lead before Lisbon tied it, 7-7. Anthony Ambeliotis' 28-yard touchdown run in the third quarter snapped the tie and the Eagles never trailed again. The senior running back scored three times and finished with 216 yards on 40 carries to bring his 13-game total to 1,288 yards on 252 carries. Senior QB John DiFiore, who scored just six points in the regular season, ran for three touchdowns against Smithville, two more against South Range and one last week. Throw in a two-point conversion run against Lisbon, and DiFiore has 38 points in the playoffs. In the air, DiFiore is 112-of-192 for 1,373 yards and 16 TDs. He's been intercepted 11 times. Senior receiver Shane Golden has 34 catches for 367 yards. He has five TDs via reception. Senior Russell Accordino kicked three PATs to bring his point total to 52. Last time JFK played in the state semifinals was 1998 when the Eagles lost to Liberty Center, 43-0.
