Mochtyaks mark 50th anniversary at Mass, dinner



XPOLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. George Mochtyak, 7552 Struthers Road, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 9 at a Mass at St. Michael Byzantine Church, where they are members, and during a dinner afterward at The Oak View in Struthers.
Hosts for the observance were the couple's son and daughter-in-law, George and Lisa Mochtyak of Boardman; Mrs. Mochtyak's sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Ray Till of New Middletown; her sister, Louise Kott of Campbell; and her niece and her husband, Kathy and Fred Seybert of North Lima.
St. Michael Church in Campbell was the setting Nov. 7, 1953, for the marriage of the former Jean Kott and Mr. Mochtyak.
Mrs. Mochtyak was a coiler at General Electric Co. in Youngstown.
Mr. Mochtyak served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946 in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He retired in 1983 from Pittsburgh-Canfield Corp. in Canfield, where he was a foreman. He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Mahoning Sportsman Association.
