Library's holiday event
LIBERTY -- Friends of the Liberty Branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 415 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, will host a gathering for local residents.
The event, which starts at 10 a.m. Dec. 6, allows participants to make a holiday ornament for the tree at the library.
Members of the Friends group will be on hand to lead the craft project and provide ornament-making materials.
The event is in place of the group's December meeting. The next regular meeting is 2 p.m. Jan. 10.
Gobble Wobble at Buhl
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- The Shenango Conservancy will have its annual 5K Gobble Wobble on Thursday at Buhl Park. The Thanksgiving event drew more than 550 racers last year. Participants can register from 8 to 9:10 a.m. on race date at The Casino in the park. The race begins at 9:30. There is an $8 race fee, but there are discounts for families and youth teams. Awards are presented in various age groups for men, women and children.
There will be hot and cold beverages, and restroom facilities are available in the park. Proceeds benefit the conservancy's preservation of the Kidds Mill Covered Bridge. Greenville Savings Bank is this year's sponsor.
